Day 1 Monday – UK –Thessalonica

Flights from Heathrow to Thessalonica, via Athens. Meet our guide and transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight in our hotel. Hotel Capsis for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Tuesday Kavala & Philippi

After breakfast we drive to the towns of Kavala and Philippi. Crossing the plains of Macedonia following the route of the ancient Roman Road, "Via Egnatia", we arrive in Philippi, where St. Paul first preached the Gospel on European soil. After the visit we drive to the nearby small village of Lydia. Arriving here, we can enjoy the beautiful view of the town and port. The port of Kavala corresponds to the ancient port of Neapolis, where Paul landed after he sailed from Troas (Asia Minor) to Macedonia. Going back in the direction of Thessalonica next to the Strymon River is an imposing monument called the Lion of Amphipolis.
Further out is the ancient Amphipolis, through which Paul passed on his way to Thessalonica. Dinner and overnight at the hotel Capsis in Thessaloniki.

Day 3 Wednesday Thessalonica.
We depart the hotel in Thessalonica to visit the city, the second largest in Greece, famous for its beautiful old and modern quarters and Byzantine churches. We visit St. Demetrios, a church of the 11th century. According to tradition this church was built on the place of Martyrdom Synagogue, where Paul preached while in Salonica. Time permitting we will visit also the Archaeological Museum. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Thessalonica

Day 4 Thursday Kalambaka
After breakfast we depart the hotel, but before leaving, we visit the modern Monument, which corresponds to the Bema from which Paul preached. This was Paul's last stop in Macedonia before continuing to Athens. Travelling south we arrive at the royal tombs of Vergina containing the famous treasures from the recently excavated tomb of King Philippos, father of Alexander the Great, and the tomb of Alexander, son of Alexander the Great and Roxane, then continue to Kalambaka for dinner and overnight. Day 5 Friday Meteora.
After breakfast we visit the Monasteries of Meteora. From the 12th century onwards, monks and hermits began to retire to the recesses in these immense grey rocks of Meteora and in the 14th century a large monastic state began to develop, which in the 16th century numbered 24 monasteries. Only five of these are still occupied. Two of these monasteries are visited. We depart for Athens and will arrive at approximately 18.00. Day 6 Saturday Athens.
After breakfast, we will begin the visit to Athens. We drive through the main streets, where the most important Monuments can be seen: the University, Library, Academy and the Parliament building, the 6th century B.C. Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. Visit the Acropolis and the famous Parthenon. Then the rocky Hill of Mars, the well-known Areopagus located on the northwest slope of the Acropolis. In the afternoon, we will visit the area of Plaka, the old quarter of Athens. Dinner and a folklore show in Plaka. For overnight stay at the Hotel Metropolitan.

Day 7 Sunday Corinth.
We have an early departure for our excursion to Corinth. The drive offers a variety of landscapes, viewing the Saronic Gulf and its islands. In the area of the city itself, the ruins are those of its Agora (Forum) as it was in the days of the Romans in the 1st century A.D. On the northern side of the Agora, 7 of the 38 columns of the Ancient Temple of Apollo (6th century B.C.) still stand. To the northwest of the Agora are the remains of the Theatre and the Roman Odeon. Among the ruins of the Roman Forum we can see the Bema, a single structure from where Paul preached to the Corinthians. Visit also the Museum containing finds from the Agora. Visit the small port of Cenchreae where St. Paul disembarked to visit Corinth. Return to Athens for dinner. Dinner at the restaurant Visantino in the Plaka area. Overnight at hotel Metropolitan.

Day 1 Tuesday, September 4

Early arrival at Ben Gurion Airport where you will be met and given assistance by Diesenhaus Unitours representative. Breakfast and visit at Neot Kedumim. Drive on to Caesarea; see the excavations of the Crusader City, the Herodian Port. Proceed to Mount Carmel, the site of the encounter between the Prophet Elijah and the Baal priests, proceed to Zippori the 2^nd century BCE capital of the Galilee. Continue to Nazareth where Jesus spent his early years and visit Mary’s well and the church of the Annunciation. Just north of Nazareth is the village of Cana, the site of Jesus’ first miracle. Drive to Tiberias to for dinner and over night.

Day 2 Wednesday, September 5

Start the day with a visit to Yardenit on shores of the Jordan River Continue to Kursi (The Land of the Geraseenes) where Jesus healed the two demon possessed men. Onwards to Capernaum, centre of Jesus' Ministry, - located here are the ruins of an ancient synagogue, and the site of Peter's House. Visit Taghba and Mensa Christi, and then in the afternoon we will visit the Mount of Beatitudes, where we shall celebrate Holy Communion. Drive to Nof Ginossar see the ancient Jesus boat and end the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

Day 3 Thursday, September 6

After checking out of the hotel, drive to Mt Tabor, site of the Transfiguration. Proceed through the Jordan River Valley rift, passing the city of Beit Shean, a Roman city of the Decapolis. Continue to Jericho, the oldest inhabited city in the world and ascend by cable car the Mount of Temptation. Climb the Judean Hills towards Jerusalem. Visit Bethany and the Tomb of Lazarus. Continue to your hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight , Jerusalem.

Day 4 Friday, September 7

Begin the day’s tour on the Mount of Olives for a breathtaking view of the entire city. Walk down the traditional Palm Sunday route to the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane where you will celebrate Holy Communion. Proceed to the Israel Museum and visit the Model of the ancient Jerusalem in the time of the Second Temple and the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed. In the Afternoon we drive to the Manger Square in Bethlehem and visit the Church of the Nativity.

Day 5 Saturday, September 8

Depart Jerusalem and descend the Judean Wilderness, via the Inn of the Good Samaritan, to the lowest place on earth-the Dead Sea. Drive along the shore to Masada and ascend by cable car. Tour this mountaintop fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jews against the Romans. Drive to a nearby oasis and relax and enjoy an opportunity to “float” in the Dead Sea. Before returning to Jerusalem, visit the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.

Day 6 Sunday, September 9

We will start our day with visit of the Excavations at the City of David; proceed to the Davidson Centre- The Jerusalem Archaeological Park that reveals the most amazing discoveries of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period. At the foot of the Southern Wall of the Temple Mount, in the area known as the Ophel, the visitor can climb up the original steps of the Hulda Gates that led to the Temple Mount. Continue our visit in the Christian Quarter; visit St Ann’s Crusader Church, Ecce Homo, Antonia Fortress and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. To end the day we will visit the Garden Tomb. Farewell dinner at the hotel.

Day 7 Monday, September 10

Depart Jerusalem for Tel Aviv via the Valley of Elah. Short city tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa. Check in at your hotel to refresh yourselves before dinner. Farewell dinner in Jaffa restaurant. Return to the Tel Aviv hotel for overnight.

Day 2 - JOPPA-CAESAREA-MEGIDDO-NAZARETH- CANA -TIBERIAS
Depart hotel and visit biblical JOPPA where Jonah the Prophet boarded a ship bound for Tarshish. Drive to CAESAREA where Paul was imprisoned and tried, and where he converted Cornelius. Continue to NAZARETH, where Jesus spent his early years and visit Mary's Well and the Church of the Annunciation. Continue to the village of Cana, the site of Jesus' first miracle.
Overnight: Kibbutz Guest House or Tiberias.

Day 3 - TIBERIAS- SEA OF GALILEE-CAPERNAUM-TABGHA-TIBERIAS
Drive to Nof Ginossar, visit the ancient first century fishing boat. Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee to CAPERNAUM, centre of Jesus' Ministry. Located here are the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the site of Peter's house. Proceed to TABGHA, the site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fish and see the fish mosaic from the 5th century Byzantine basilica. Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the “Sermon on the Mount”. Drive to YARDENIT on the shores of the Jordan River where you can renew you baptismal vows.
Overnight: Kibbutz Guest House or Tiberias

Day 4 - YARDENIT-MT. TABOR-JERICHO-BETHANY-JERUSALEM
Depart TIBERIAS. Visit MT. TABOR site of the Transfiguration. Drive through the Jordan Valley to JERICHO, the oldest and lowest inhabited city in the world. On the way to Jerusalem, drive to Bethany the home of Mary Martha and Lazarus. We ascend the Judean Hills to reach Jerusalem the city of peace. Overnight: Jerusalem

Day 5 - JERUSALEM MOUNT OF OLIVES WAILING WALL TEMPLE MOUNT
Begin the day's tour on the Mount of Olives for a breathtaking view of the entire city. Walk down the traditional Palm Sunday route to the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane. Continue by foot in the Walled City. In the Christian Quarter visit St. Ann's Crusader Church, Ecce Homo (Lithostrotos), Antonia Fortress and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. End the day with a communion service in the Garden Tomb (Gordon's Calvary). Overnight: Jerusalem.

Day 6 - JERUSALEM- DEAD SEA SCROLLS - BETHLEHEM
Start the day in the Jewish Quarter. See the Cardo, Western Wall and visit the Temple Mount. Tour the NEW CITY OF JERUSALEM beginning with the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed as well as at the scale model of the Old City of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus. Continue to the Yad Vashem Memorial to the Holocaust and this afternoon drive to Manger Square in BETHLEHEM* visit the Church of the Nativity and view Shepherds Fields. Overnight: Jerusalem.

Day 7 - JERUSALEM-MASADA
We depart Jerusalem and drive through the Judean Wilderness to the Dead Sea. We visit QUMRAN where the Essene community wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls. Onwards to the famous fortress of Masada Before returning to Jerusalem if time and weather permitting enjoy a swim or “float” in the unique waters of the DEAD SEA. Overnight: Jerusalem

Day 8 - JERUSALEM - LONDON
Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your return flight.

Day 1 UK – Israel- Ashkelon

Depart UK for Israel – the Holy Land. Arrive in the evening, where our local representatives, Diesenhaus – Unitours, will help you with the formalities at Ben Gurion Airport. After passing through customs you will be introduced to your guide and driver, who will be with you throughout your pilgrimage. Transfer to your hotel in Ashkelon.

Day 2 Beersheba

In the morning you will visit the most southern city in biblical times – Beersheba. Where Abraham resided. Visit the well and take a tour of this now modern city. (If touring on Thursday visit the Bedouin market) Onwards to Mamshit to enjoy a camel trek along the northern Incense Route: a view of the Nabataean city-Mamshit, Hitann wadi, Yamin plain, Machlik wadi. Overnight in the Desert.

Day 3 Dead Sea

Full day touring on route to the Dead Sea. Visiting Masada – the Roman Fortress at the time of King Herod and onwards to Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were located. Time will be allowed for a ‘swim’ in the Dead Sea. Overnight at a Kibbutz Guest House in the region.

Day 4 Jericho - Jerusalem

Visit to the Kasr el Yehud Baptismal site on the Jordan River, located in proximity to where John the Baptist would have lived preached and baptized Jesus. Onwards, to Jericho, the lowest city on Earth. See the ‘Sycamore tree’ of Zacchaeus. Visit the excavations of the walled city and take the cable car to the Mt of Temptation. On the road to Jerusalem visit the biblical encampment of Genesis Land, situated in the heart of the Judean desert, in the land where the Patriarchs lived. A magical place, it enables visitors to experience life as it was in biblical times.

Onwards to Jerusalem for overnight stay

Day 5 Mt of Olives - Bethlehem

Full day touring commencing at the Mt Of Olives, visit the Chapel of the Ascension, Church of Our Father – Pater Nostre, where Our Lord’s prayer is displayed in many languages and dialects. Walk the Palm Sunday route to Dominus Flevit – the Church where Jesus wept over Jerusalem and then onwards to the Garden of Gethsemane passing the Russian Orthodox Church of Mary Magdalene, with its golden domes. In the afternoon visit Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity and Shepherds Fields. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 6 Old City – Garden Tomb

Full day walking tour – enter the walled city of Jerusalem at St Stephens Gate, walk the Via Dolorosa, visiting Pool of Bethesda, St Anne’s Church, Ecco Homo and finishing up at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Onwards to Mt Zion, the Room of the Last Supper and the Church of Peter in Gallicantu. End the day at the Garden Tomb. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 7 Emmaus - Caesarea

Full day touring on transfer to Netanya. Visit Emmaus at Abu Gosh. Onwards to Neot Kedumim the Biblical Landscape Reserve in Israel, a unique recreation of the physical setting of the Bible. Finish the day at Caesarea, a city on the shores of the Mediterranean, on the great road from Tyre to Egypt, about 70 miles northwest of Jerusalem, at the northern extremity of the Plain of Sharon. It was built by Herod the Great (B.C. 10), who named it after Caesar Augustus, hence called Caesarea Sebaste (Gr. Sebastos = "Augustus"), on the site of an old town called "Strato's Tower." It was the capital of the Roman province of Judaea, the seat of the governors or procurators, and the headquarters of the Roman troops. It was the great Gentile city of Palestine, with a spacious artificial harbour. Overnight Netanya.

Day 8 Nazareth – The Galilee

Full day touring on transfer to the Galilee. Visit Nazareth, the birth town of Jesus, The Basilica of the Annunciation, Mary’s’ Well and onto the Nazareth Village, where a visitor commented - I thank God for the wonderful opportunity of visiting the Nazareth Village. It was like stepping into the ancient world of Jesus and the Nazarene community! It was an unforgettable, most memorable and life changing experience! (Winsome Loraine Peter). Onwards to Cana, here Jesus performed his first miracle – changing water in to wine. An opportunity will be given to those participants who wish to renew their vows. Day 9 The Sea of Galilee

Begin the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, then visit the sites where Jesus preached and performed His miracles: The Mt of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Tabgha and Mensa Christi. Onwards to Kursi (Gergesa). Visit the ruins of Bethsaida – the fisherman’s village and see the ancient boat from the time of Jesus. Overnight the Galilee

Day 10 Mt Tabor – Kfar Kedem

Start the day with a visit to the Church of Transfiguration on Mt Tabor – onwards to Kfar Kedem; in the lush hill country of the Galilee, in view of Nazareth and a stone's throw from Sepphoris, Kfar Kedem recreates the day-to-day life of this ancient land. A hands-on experience, Kfar Kedem will transport you back to the roots of your heritage. Ride the rolling hills as Abraham rode them. Take in the scents that Jacob smelled tending Laban's flocks. Hear the words of the prophets as you thresh grain, press oil from fresh olives and wine from fresh grapes. You'll even dress like them!

27th March- 3rd April  2012




Day 1 (Tuesday 27 March)
Meet at London Heathrow Terminal 1 for flight to Israel. Flight LY316 departing 15.35.
Arrive Ben Gurion Airport at 22.25. Met by guide and transported to King Solomon Hotel in Natanya for overnight stay.

Day 2 (Wednesday 28 March)
After breakfast travel to Caesarea, the Roman capital of Israel built by Herod the Great. From Caesarea to Mt Carmel, the site of Elijah's epic contest with the prophets of Baal. Pause for meditation and then lunch at Mt Carmel. In the afternoon we visit Nazareth to see the Church of the Annunciation, the Church of the Synagogue and the viewpoint on the Hill of Fear. Then travel to the Ron Beach Hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 (Thursday 29 March)
After breakfast we travel to Tabga on the NW shore of the Sea of Galilee to see the Church of the Primacy of St Peter and the Church of the Feeding of the Multitude. We then proceed to the Church of the Beatitudes with its commanding view over the Sea of Galilee. Then on to Capernaum, the centre of Jesus' ministry and the site of Peter's house. After lunch we see the 2000 year old  “Jesus boat” and enjoy a boat ride on the lake. Finally we share communion together by the lakeshore at YMCA Peniel-by-Galilee. Return to Ron Beach Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 (Friday 30 March)
Drive to Mt Tabor and visit the Church of the Transfiguration. Pause for morning prayer with a magnificent view over the valley of Jezreel. From Mt Tabor travel down the Jordan Valley, stopping briefly at Biet Alfa and with a lunch break in Jericho. In the afternoon we travel on to Jerusalem, with a brief pause at The Inn of the Good Samaritan and the Church of Mary and Martha in Bethany. Then to on the Prima-Royale  Hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 (Saturday 31 March)
The day starts with a visit to the Mount of Olives viewpoint with its panoramic view over Jerusalem. Descending the Mount of Olives we pause at the Dominus Flevit Church and then on to the Church of all Nations (with time for prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane). Then on to the Church of St Peter in Gallicantu. Travel to Bethlehem for lunch and an afternoon visit to Shepherds' Fields and the Basilica of St Catherine. Return to the Prima-Royale Hotel.

Day 6 (Sunday 1 April)
An early start to reach the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. We drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada, the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots against the Romans. Ascend by cable car and tour the famous archaeological site including Herod's Palace. From Masada we travel to Qumran where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls were found. After lunch there will be an opportunity to float on the waters of the Dead Sea. We then return to Jerusalem. Overnight at the Prima-Royale Hotel.

Day 7 (Monday 2 April)
Visit the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock and the Pool of Bethesda, pausing for a short act of worship at St Anne's Church with its amazing acoustics. Then walk along the Via Dolorosa. After a lunch break proceeding to the old City of King David with an opportunity to see Hezekiah's Tunnel which was constructed to bring water from the perennial Gihon Spring in the Kidron Valley inside the walls of the old city. And finally a visit to the Garden Tomb by Skull Hill where we celebrate Communion. Overnight at the Prima-Royale Hotel. After supper there will be a coach tour of Jerusalem by night .

Day 8 (Tuesday 3 April)
In the morning we visit the famous Jerusalem Model and the Shrine of the Book which houses some of the ancient texts found at Qumran. Then on to Ein Kerem, the birth place of John the Baptist. After lunch and on the way to the airport, we call in at Emmaus, a suitable last stop, as the village is remembered for the appearance of the risen Lord to Cleopas and the unnamed disciple on the evening of the first Easter.

ISRAEL’S HIDDEN GEMS
14 NIGHTS – 15 DAYS ITINERARY**

Day 1: UK - Israel - Jerusalem
Depart the UK for Ben Gurion Airport. After a four and half hour flight, you arrive at Israel’s spacious and brand new Ben Gurion Airport. The VIP greeting service – aptly named Shalom Service, will welcome you. This service ensures that you are fast tracked through all the formalities. At the arrival hall you will be introduced to your personal guide who will be your chauffeur throughout the Land of Israel and show you the Hidden Gems. You will be transferred the relatively short distance to Jerusalem and to the Mamilla Hotel*, where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Jerusalem – The Golden City
Israel is famous for its variety of cuisine, which will be show cased at breakfast, when you enjoy a scrumptious full Israeli (Sabra) breakfast. You start the day by enjoying the panoramic view of Jerusalem’s skyline from the Mt of Olives. Then walk down the Palm Sunday route passing the churches of Dominus Flevit, Mary Magdelen Russian Orthodox (where the late mother of our Prince Philip was laid to rest) and the Church of All Nations at the Garden of Gethsemane. Onwards to St Stephen’s Gate and enter the Old City of Jerusalem. Visit the Pool of Bethesda (where Jesus healed the blind man), Ecco Homo – where you can see the pavement at the time of Jesus and where the Roman solders played the Kings Game. Onwards to walk the Via Dolorosa - Stations of the Cross. Finish up at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, not forgetting to visit the Ethiopians on the roof. Enjoy lunch at Papa Andreas roof top restaurant overlooking the Old City. Walk back to the Jaffa Gate, through the old shuk (Arab market) David Street, – seeing all the gift/souvenir shops as you climb up this narrow and very atmospheric route. Onwards to David’s Citadel and the Tower of David Museum. Before dinner – visit the Time Elevator an audio- visual simulator presentation narrated by Haim Topol, which will explain to you with great visual effects, in a short time the 3,000 years of Jerusalem’s history. Dinner is at one of Jerusalem’s top restaurants – Arcadia. Your overnight accommodation will be at the Mamilla Hotel.

Day 3: Jerusalem The New City
After breakfast, you start the day at the Israel Museum – Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and also visit the scale model of the Old City at the time of the 2nd Temple. Onwards to the Rose Garden and see some of the most fantastic sculptures – created by world famous artists. Then to Yad Veshem the Museum of the Holocaust. (Lunch at the cafeteria) Visit Mt Herzel – the final resting place of many of Israel’s leaders and then visit Herzel Museum, onwards to Hadassah Hospital to see the synagogue there and the world famous Marc Chagall windows and to finish the day at Ein Kerem, a sleepy village today which was the birth- place of John the Baptist and now is fast becoming a popular artist’s colony. Your overnight accommodation and dinner will be at the Mamilla Hote.

Day 4: Jerusalem – Do It Yourself
After breakfast, you will have a day of leisure to relax or to take a stroll down Jaffa Street to the fantastic Machne Yehuda Market. Onwards to Ben Yehuda Street – a pedestrianised street full of an array of shops and eateries. Try the schwarma (roasted succulent meat on a large rotating skewer) stall for lunch and then walk through to the Mea Sharim quarter to see how the very orthodox Jews live. Dinner at the Cavalier Restaurant. Your overnight accommodation will be at the Mamilla Hotel

Day 5: Dead Sea – Masada – Qumran
After breakfast descend below sea level to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth. Climb the fortress of Masada. Masada is the name for a site of ancient palaces and fortifications in the South District of Israel on top of an isolated rock plateau, or horst, on the eastern edge of the Judean Desert overlooking the Dead Sea. After the first Jewish-Roman war a siege of the fortress by troops of the Roman Empire led to the mass suicide of the Sicarii rebels, who preferred death to surrender. Visit the oasis of Ein Gedi, where you can enjoy a short walk to see the wonder of the beautiful waterfall. Travel onwards to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in a cave in 1947. Hopefully there will be time to swim (float!) on the Dead Sea. Your overnight accommodation will be at the Mamilla Hotel.

Day 6: Dead Sea – Sea of Galilee
After breakfast, you will travel from one sea to another – both inland – today we make our way up the Jordan Valley to the Sea of Galilee and the town of Tiberias. Relax at Gan Hasholosha also known as Sachne, is a lush, green pearl unexpectedly situated in the Jordan Valley. The traveller in the area will find its waters and exceptionally beautiful surroundings a refreshing experience any time of year, and the connotation of "a spring in the desert" as the Bible mentions will receive new meaning. Here at the foot of Mount Gilboa you will find water slides, natural pools, an operating flour mill, an amphitheatre and a museum, in addition to an exact replicate of the original Tel Amal settlement which became the Nir David kibbutz of which Sachne now is a part. – Enjoy lunch and a swim in the hot springs before checking into the Scott’s Hotel. * Dinner at Decks – a unique waterside restaurant just across the road on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

Day 7: Activity!
After breakfast, you can enjoy a white water rafting experience down the Jordan River and in the afternoon the excitement of a jeep safari in the Galilean Hills await you. Afterwards you will be taken to your hotel in the mountains –Mitzpe Hayamin Hotel & Spa* for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 8: Pamper Yourself!
After breakfast, you can spend the day relaxing – enjoying the hotels’ facilities. Your dinner and overnight accommodation is at the Mitzpe Hayamin Hotel & Spa.

Day 9: Upper Galilee – Haifa
After breakfast begin a full day touring the Upper Galilee – visiting the Cabbalistic town of Safed, which is the centre of Jewish mysticism. Here you will see the ancient synagogues and the artist’s colony. Afterwards you will travel to the crusader fortress of Monfort; which is a ruined crusader fortress in the Upper Galilee region in northern Israel, about 22 miles (35 km) northeast of the city of Haifa and 10 miles (16 km) south of the border with Lebanon. The site is now a national park inside the nature reserve of Nahal Keziv. Enjoy a falafel lunch en route. Visit the limestone grottos at Rosh Hanikra, taking the cable car and onwards to the port city of Haifa - overnight on Mt Carmel – overlooking the bay of Haifa. Dinner and overnight accommodation at the Holiday Inn Bay View Hotel*

Day 10: Haifa
After breakfast, you will visit one of the wonders of the world – the exotic Persian Gardens and B’hai Temple, onwards to Tel Aviv via the artist’s colony of Ein Hod. In the afternoon visit the winery and enjoy a light lunch there at Zichron Ya’acov. See the quaint town that was originally founded by Baron Rothschild and a new visitor centre, with an exhibition, an auditorium showing a short film about the site. Outside the memorial park there is a nature park and finally visits the huge archaeological site of Caesarea Martima and the interactive presentation. Dinner and overnight at the Tel Aviv Hilton Hotel* overlooking the Mediterranean.

Day 11: Tel Aviv - Jaffa
After breakfast, you will walk in a city that never sleeps…Tel Aviv. this is a city where you shop till you drop. Visit the arts and craft fair at Nachlat Benyamin (Tuesdays & Fridays only) – walk to Dizengoff Street and sit out on a pavement café and watch the world go by. In the evening visit Jaffa – the port city with its quaint shops and artists galleries. Enjoy a dinning experience at one of the top restaurants there. Dinner and overnight accommodation at the Tel Aviv Hilton.

Day 12: The Desert
After breakfast, you will leave Tel Aviv for Mitzpe Ramon in the centre of the Negev Desert – on the edge of the Great Crater – a natural rock formation that has similarities to the Grand Canyon in the USA. Drive through the biblical town of Beersheba. Visit Mamshit, for a camel riding experience and an authentic Bedouin tent. Learn about the Bedouin hospitality and enjoy a light lunch – onwards to Kibbutz Sde Boker – the final resting place of Israel first Prime Minister – David Ben Gurion, overlooking the magnificent Zin Valley. Visit the remains of the Nabatean city of Avdat – Dinner and overnight at Isrotels’ Ramon Inn*

Day 13: Eilat
After breakfast, travel south to Eilat, Israel’s most popular holiday resort, passing en route Hai Bar – where wild life from the time of the bible is protected. Onwards to Timna – King Solomon’s Pillars and the old copper mines. Marvel at the huge multi-coloured rock formations. At the park, which is only 20 miles north of Eilat in the Arava Desert is the Tabernacle in the Desert, a life-size replica of the biblical tabernacle. While no original materials (e.g., gold, silver, bronze) have been used, the model is accurate in every other way based upon the biblical description. In the afternoon swim with the Dolphins at Dolphin Reef. Dinner and overnight at the Dan Hotel in Eilat*.

Day 14: Eilat Relax!
After breakfast, you will have an opportunity to enjoy this fantastic resort – located at the far southern tip of Israel. A year round holiday destination, where the sun shines over 300 days of the year. Today is a day to relax and enjoy the sun or to shop at the tourist centre and maybe buy a piece of jewellery containing the unique Eilat gemstone. Day 15: Eilat – UK

1. BOOKING FORM
Your contract is with Actionstride Ltd. a fully bonded member of ABTA and ATOL licence holder. It comes into force only when we have accepted a booking by the issue of a written confirmation or invoice. The person signing the booking form warrants that he has the authority of all other persons included in the holiday to make the booking on their behalf.

2. PAYMENT
A deposit of £100 per person is payable at the time of booking. An invoice for the balance price of your holiday will be sent approximately 10 days after the booking form has been received and must be paid in full at least eight weeks -prior to departure For bookings made within eight weeks of departure full payment is due with the booking form. If for any reason the balance is not received by us by the due date we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled and levy the applicable cancellation charges.

3. ALTERATIONS
If having booked and paid the deposit for one holiday you wish to transfer to a different holiday, hotel, departure date or alter any detail on the booking form, we will do everything possible to meet your requirements. However, a fee to offset the additional administration involved of £25 per alteration will be charged plus any additional costs incurred. Alterations of departure date or holiday within six weeks of departure will incur the normal cancellation charges as set out in Section 4. If you are prevented from travelling, you may transfer your holiday to a third party without payment of cancellation charges. Notification must be no later than 21 days before departure and additional administration costs incurred will be charged.

4. CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS
If you are forced to cancel your holidays, it is important to note that the cancellation of booking is accepted in writing and is not effective until received by us. In the event of a cancellation by either one or all named persons in the booking form, we will charge the following scale of cancellation charges.

If you are travelling on a low cost carrier that Actionstride Ltd has booked on your behalf - in case of cancellation you are liable for 100% cost of the said airline ticket reagrdless of when the booking was made.

5. ALTERATIONS TO YOUR HOLIDAY
(i) The arrangements for holidays in this brochure are made months in advance and changes are sometimes necessary, for example as a result of the unexpected closure of a hotel, the withdrawal of facilities or changes in flight times. We reserve the right to make changes or amendments to the holiday arrangements in our absolute discretion and will do our reasonable best to advise you before departure. If your accommodation has to be changed we will do our best to provide reasonable alternative accommodation.
(ii) There may be occasions when your booking may have to be cancelled, for example, where a material change or amendment to your arrangements is required, or if no other reasonable accommodation can be found, or through force majeure, and we reserve the right in our absolute discretion to cancel your holiday. In these circumstances you will be offered the choice of an alternative holiday of comparable standard or a refund of any monies you have already paid. Sometimes, alterations are necessary such as changes to your U.K. airport, resort, time of departure or return by more than 12 hours and the offering of accommodation with a lower official classification. You are then entitled to compensation or a credit towards the cost of an alternative holiday in this brochure as follows:

6. FORCE MAJEURE
Your holiday will not be cancelled after the date your final invoice is due for payment except for circumstances beyond our control. These include weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riot, civil commotion, and other circumstances outside our control. Should cancellations be necessary, however, the choice of an alternative holiday of comparable standard will be offered if available or a prompt and full refund of all money paid. No compensation will be payable

7. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT
Although we do our best to ensure that all arrangements made for your holiday are satisfactory occasionally problems arise. If you have a complaint please explain the problem to our representatives at the destination. They will do everything possible to help you there and then. If you feel the complaint has not been dealt with satisfactorily, please notify us in writing within 28 days of your return from your- holiday. In the unlikely event of the complaint not being resolved to your satisfaction any disputes arising out of, or in connection with, this contract, which cannot be amicably settled, will be referred to arbitration under a special scheme, which, though devised by arrangement with ABTA, is administered quite independently by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The scheme (details on request) provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on the customer in respect of costs. The scheme applies to claims for an amount greater than £1,500 per person/£7,500 per booking form, nor to claims which are solely or mainly in respect of physical injury or illness or the consequences of such injury or illness

9. RESPONSIBILITIES AND LIABILITIES
i) ACTIONSTRIDE LTD will ensure that the holiday booked with us will be as described and services reach a reasonable standard. If we fail to provide any part, we will pay you appropriate compensation if this has affected enjoyment of your holiday. We accept responsibility for acts and/or omissions of our employees, agents, and suppliers except where they lead to death, injury or illness. Our liability in all cases shall be limited to a maximum of twice the value of the original holiday cost
ii) We accept responsibility for death, injury, or illness caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of our employees or agents together with suppliers and subcontractors whilst acting within the scope of their employment in the provision of your holiday. We will accordingly pay to our clients such damages as might have been awarded in such circumstances under English Law.
iii) Travel is by scheduled airlines in economy class. In respect of carriage by air, sea and rail and the provision of accommodation our liability in ill cases will be limited in the manner provided by international convention. When you travel with the carrier, the conditions of that carrier apply; some of which may limit liability. This brochure is the responsibility of the tour operator; it is not issued on behalf of, and does not commit the airlines whose services are used. In accordance with Air Navigation Orders, an infant must be under 2 years on date of return flight to qualify for infant status.
iv) Any claims arising shall be subject to English law and jurisdiction of the English courts.
v) The operation of overseas property, transport and other services is regulated and enforced by the local authorities of each country and are subject to the laws, regulations, standards and Codes of Practice of that country. Both the legal and safety requirements of many foreign countries are different to those applied in the U.K. and it is only the local standards of each country that foreign suppliers operate to. Local energy conservation measures, and unseasonable weather conditions, can result in disruption to the supply of electricity and particular facilities such is swimming pools may not always be available as described and may be curtailed or withdrawn altogether (often for hygiene or safety reasons)

10. PROBLEMS CAUSED BY MISADVENTURE
We shall offer every assistance to any client who through misadventure suffers illness, personal injury or death during the period of their holiday arising out of an activity not forming part of the holiday arrangement. This includes advice, guidance and initial financial assistance where appropriate up to the limit of £5000 per person.

11. PRICES
All prices are based on the current rate of exchange at the time of boooking. In the event of a currency fluctuation, we reserve the right to vary over our prices, though these charges will be kept to a minimum. No charges will be made less than 30 days prior to departure.

12. SURCHARGE POLICY
The price of your holiday is subject to surcharges on the following items: governmental action, currency, aircraft, fuel, overflying charges, airport charges and increases in scheduled airfares. Even in this case we will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the holiday price, which excludes insurance premiums, and any amendment charges. Only amounts in excess of this 2% will be charged but where a surcharge is payable there will be an administration charge of 50p together with an amount to cover agent’s commission. If this means paying more than 10% on the holiday price, you will be entitled to cancel the holiday with a full refund of all money paid except for any premium paid to us for holiday insurance and amendment charges. Should you decide to cancel because of this, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on the invoice.

13. YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTION
When you buy an ATOL protected air package or flight from us you will receive a confirmation invoice from us (or via our authorised agent through which you booked) confirming your arrangements and your protection under our Air Travel Organiser's Licence number 2893. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking. Day 1: UK Tel Aviv - Sunday 20th November
Depart from UK on LY 316 from London Heathrow (14.30hrs 21.15hrs) you will meet your guide and transfer to your hotel on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea at the Tal Hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Bat Yam Sea of Galilee Monday 21st November
We start the day at Caesarea, visiting the remains of Herod's harbour and palace, the amphitheatre and the new visitor centre. We continue to Megiddo, more commonly known to us as Armageddon and the excavations there, as we journey north we ascend Mt. Carmel to Muhraka, where Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal, then on to the Crusader city of Akko (Acre). Light permitting we will view Lake Galilee from the top of Mt. Arbel. Dinner and overnight at a kibbutz Ginossar Guesthouse.

Day 3: Upper Galilee -Tuesday 22nd November
Today we begin with a boat ride on the Lake Galilee and a visit to the ancient boat, believed to have been from the time of Jesus. We continue on to the Mt. of Beatitudes followed by a visit to Safed's old quarter, we then continue north to Banias or Caesarea Philippi, passing through the beautiful countryside of Upper Galilee to end the day on Mt. Bental overlooking the road to Damascus. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Galilee - Wednesday 23rd November
Today we have the opportunity to plant a tree and truly become a part of the land blossoming again. Our next stop is Mount Tabor, believed to be the site of the Transfiguration; the ride up and down the hairpin bends is very exciting! Then onto Sephorris & Nazareth. Have lunch at the Nazareth Village (included) and Cana and ending the day at Yardenit, the baptismal site on the River Jordan. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Sea of Galilee Jerusalem Thursday 24th November
We continue our exploration round the Sea of Galilee, visiting Kursi, Bethsaida, Capernaum, Tabgha and Primacy of Peter of Peter. After a lunch of St. Peter's fish (optional) at Kibbutz Ein Gev we visit Gideon's spring at Ein Harod and journey on up to Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight stay at the Grand Court Hotel

Day 6: Jerusalem- Friday 25th November
We start the day with a visit to the Israel Museum including the model of the Old City during the 2nd Temple period and the Dead Sea Scrolls. In the afternoon we shall visit Bethlehem where we will have an opportunity to shop for olive wood. The day will end with a communion service at the Garden Tomb. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 7: Dead Sea Masada Saturday 26th November
Today we travel south through the beautiful Judean hills and descend 3,600 feet to the Dead Sea, visiting the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. We drive along the shore of the Dead Sea and ascend Masada by cable car, the spectacular desert fortress. On our return we will visit the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve and the beautiful waterfalls. In the afternoon we have time to experience floating in the Dead Sea and perhaps even a mud bath and a visit to the Ahava factory. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 8: Old Jerusalem Sunday 27th November
The next two will be spent exploring Jerusalem. Today we will walk down the Mount of Olives to the Garden of Gethsemane visit the Western Wall and the Temple Mount and onto Mt Zion and the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 9: Old Jerusalem Monday 28th November
Before returning to the Old City we will visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial Museum. Today we will see the Western Wall tunnel, City of David/the Pool of Siloam, St. Anne's Church and walk the Via Dolorosa. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 10: Jerusalem London Tuesday 29th November
Early departure to Ben Gurion Airport for your flight to London Heathrow (09.05hrs 12.35hrs).

Day 1: (Tuesday 25th October)
Fly from Manchester to London Heathrow, then onwards with El Al Israel Airlines to Tel Aviv Airport Meeting and assistance and transfer to your hotel on the shore of the Mediterranean - King Solomon Hotel, Netanya (Supper on arrival ~ 10 - 11 p.m.).

Day 2: (Wednesday 26th October)
Netanya (Breakfast 8.30 then time to walk on beach etc.). Leave hotel visit
Caesarea Maratima Lunch on Mount Carmel (near the Druze Village of Dahliat). Onwards to El Muhraqa; the traditional site where the prophet Elijah confronted the followers of Ba'al. Then onwards to your hotel - Ein Gev Kibbutz Holiday Village, Galilee .

Day 3: (Thursday 27th October)
Begin the day with a Sea of Galilee boat crossing from Ein Gev to Tiberias. Then we visit the traditional site where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount - Mount of Beatitudes. Then to Tabgha, which commemorates the miracle of the loaves & fishes (Multiplication). Visit Mensa Christi on the lakeside (St. Peter Primacy). Day 4: (Friday 28th October)
If Kursi missed yesterday Kursi where Jesus healed the demon-possessed man and the swine were cast into the lake. Onwards to the site of The Transfiguration - Mount Tabor. Visit Nazareth, Basilica of Annunciation, St. Joseph's Church, Village site and lunch), Cana the site of the 1st miracle, where Jesus turned water into wine. You will be given free time in Ein Gev After dinner there will be a short informal service on the grass by lake.

Day 5: (Saturday 29th October)
On your transfer to Jerusalem visit Yardenit (River Jordan Baptisms). Then via the Jordan Valley, Tel Sultan, Jericho (Cable Car to Mount of Temptation / Tel (Ancient Tower)) Onwards to the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were located - Qumran &, Bethany, where Lazarus rose from the dead. Dinner and overnight in Leonardo Hotel (formally the Moriah Classic and the Novotel) in Jerusalem (possible delay entering rooms).

Day 6: (Sunday 30th October)
Service at St. George's Anglican Cathedral, Free Day in Jerusalem.

Day 7: (Monday 31st October)
Begin the day visiting the “Temple Mount” sites (incl. inside Dome of the Rock if possible), Western Wall (+ poss. Jerusalem Archaeological Park), Swim in Dead Sea nr. Ahava Laboratory, Lunch on patio above beach Masada. Dinner and overnight Leonardo.

Day 2 - NAZARETH- CANA -TIBERIAS- Tuesday 24th May
Depart hotel to NAZARETH, where Jesus spent his early years and visit Mary's Well and the Church of the Annunciation. Continue to the village of Cana, the site of Jesus' first miracle, onwards to the Golan Heights
Overnight: Tiberias.

Day 3 - TIBERIAS- SEA OF GALILEE-CAPERNAUM-TABGHA-TIBERIAS- Wednesday 25th May
Drive to Nof Ginossar, visit the ancient first century fishing boat. Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee to CAPERNAUM, centre of Jesus' Ministry. Located here are the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the site of Peter's house. Proceed to TABGHA, the site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fish and see the fish mosaic from the 5th century Byzantine basilica. Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the “Sermon on the Mount”.Lunch at the resturant for Peter’s Fish at Ein gev (additional charge will apply). Drive to YARDENIT on the shores of the Jordan River where you can renew you baptismal vows.

Day 4 - YARDENIT-MT. TABOR-JERICHO-BETHANY-JERUSALEM- Thursday 26th Depart TIBERIAS. Visit MT. TABOR site of the Transfiguration. Drive through the Jordan Valley to JERICHO, the oldest and lowest inhabited city in the world. On the way to Jerusalem, drive to Bethany the home of Mary Martha and Lazarus. We ascend the Judean Hills to reach Jerusalem the city of peace. Overnight: Park Hotel Jerusalem

Day 5 - JERUSALEM MOUNT OF OLIVES WAILING WALL TEMPLE MOUNT- Friday 27th
Begin the day's tour on the Mount of Olives for a breathtaking view of the entire city. Walk down the traditional Palm Sunday route to the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane. Continue by foot in the Walled City. In the Christian Quarter visit St. Ann's Crusader Church, Ecce Homo (Lithostrotos), Antonia Fortress and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. End the day at the Garden Tomb (Holy Communion).
Overnight: Jerusalem.

Day 6 JERUSALEM-MASADA - Saturday 28th May
We depart Jerusalem and drive through the Judean Wilderness to the Dead Sea. We visit QUMRAN where the Essene community wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls. Onwards to the famous fortress of Masada.

Day 7 JERUSALEM- DEAD SEA SCROLLS - BETHLEHEM- Sunday 29th May
Start the day in the Jewish Quarter. See the Cardo. Tour the NEW CITY OF JERUSALEM. Free time for shopping. Continue to the Yad Vashem Memorial to the Holocaust and this afternoon drive to Manger Square in BETHLEHEM* visit the Church of the Nativity and view Shepherds Fields. Overnight: Jerusalem.

Day 8: - JERUSALEM - LONDON- Monday 30th May
Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your return flight.

An Ecumenical Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

Day 1: Monday 16th May Manchester - Jerusalem
Depart for Ben Gurion Airport and on to our hotel in the Leonardo Hotel Jerusalem

Day 2: Tuesday 17th May Old Jerusalem
After breakfast, we begin today's programme from the Mount of Olives for a breathtaking view of the entire city. Following the Palm Sunday route, halfway down the Mount of Olives is the teardrop shaped church of Dominus Flevit. The Garden of Gethsemane lies at the bottom of the hill, and nearby is the Church of All Nations. The day will continue with a visit to Ein Karem, birthplace of John the Baptist, ending with paying our respects at Yad Vashem, the emotive Holocaust Memorial.

Day 3: Wednesday 18th May Via Dolorosa & Garden Tomb
We celebrate the Eucharist in St. George's Cathedral. Then we will begin today's programme which includes visits to St. Anne's Church, strikingly peaceful and with amazing acoustics and close by is the Pool of Bethesda. We then walk along the Via Dolorosa (the Way of the Cross) ending at the Church of The Holy Sepulchre, and at the end of the day we will visit the Garden Tomb by Skull Hill.

Day 4: Thursday 19th May Temple Mount & Bethlehem
After breakfast, we enter the Old City to see the Wailing Wall and the golden dome of the Sacred Rock - a magnificent gold and turquoise shrine, built on the site of Solomon's Temple and later Herod's Temple. Although the walls have been repaired, the ground plan and colonnades have remained unchanged. We will visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, 'Upper Room' where, traditionally Jesus and His disciples shared the Last Supper. After lunch we will visit Church of the Nativity and Shepherds’ Fields in Bethlehem.

Day 5: Friday 20th May Jerusalem At Leisure
Full day at leisure in order to return at your own pace to some of the Holy Sites, or just to relax or to shop.

Day 6: Saturday 21st May Dead Sea & Masada
Today's programme will take you to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to the base of Masada, the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots against the Romans. Ascend by cable car and tour the famed archaeological site including Herod's Palace. After descending we drive to the shores of the Dead Sea for a "swim", and enjoy floating in these unique waters. When we return to Jerusalem we will visit Qumran where the Essene Community wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls, which were discovered in 1947. We shall visit Bethany, The Church of Mary & Martha and the Tomb of Lazarus.

Day 7: Sunday 22nd May - Tiberias
After breakfast, we shall go to St Anne's Church for morning worship. We then travel onwards to The Galilee area via The Inn of the Good Samaritan passing Jericho. Drive through the great Jordan Rift Valley to Biet Shean see the archeological site of this biblical city and then onwards to - Nazareth, where Jesus spent His early years and visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, the traditional workshop of Joseph and Mary's well. Continue to Tiberias on the shores of the Sea of Galilee for overnight stay at the Ron Beach Hotel Tiberias.

Day 8: Monday 23rd May The Sea of Galilee and Cana.
Begin the day with a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee from Tiberias to Nof Ginossar, which lies at the foot of Mount Arbel with a magnificent view of the Golan Heights. In the museum next to the hotel you will find fascinating evidence of the Galilee's long history, including the 2000 year old boat recently discovered on the bed of the lake. Visit Mount Tabor the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus and visit the village of Cana, site of Jesus' first miracle.

Day 9: Tuesday 24th May Sea of Galilee
Early in the morning, we go to the Mount of Beatitudes, to celebrate the Eucharist, at one of the most beautiful Gospel settings, overlooking the Sea of Galilee, and where Jesus gave His Sermon on the Mount. Time will be given afterwards for reflection. Onwards to Tabgha, where the Church of the Multiplication commemorates Jesus' miracle of the feeding of the 5,000. We'll visit the little chapel of Mensa Christi, 'Table of the Lord' with a breathtaking view over the Sea of Galilee. The chapel is built over an enormous rock depicting the traditional site where Jesus cooked breakfast on the fire of coals for the disciples. Continue to Capernaum, centre of Jesus' Ministry, located here are the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the site of Peter's house. We shall have an opportunity to enjoy a very special lunch of St Peter's fish at Kibbutz Ein Gev Before going back to our hotel we will visit Yardenit, the Baptismal site on the River Jordan.

Day 10: Wednesday 25th May Galilee - optional tours*

There will be two optional tours: The first departs 08.00 hrs will visit Megiddo (Armageddon), of great strategic importance and battlefield throughout the ages. Megiddo was one of King Solomon's chariot cities. Proceed along the coastal road to Caesarea, the Roman capital of Israel, built by Herod the Great and see the Roman Theatre. It was here that Paul was imprisoned and tried and where he converted Cornelius.

The second tour, departing 09.00hrs will travel north to Caesarea Philippi, experience the Hermon Stream at Banias Nature Reserve, this is where Jesus said according to Mark Chapter 8 … and Jesus went on with his disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do men say that I am?” And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” And he charged them to tell no one about him. View Mount Hermon in the distance, and pass Tel Dan and the Golan Heights Return to Tiberias for overnight stay.

Day 11: Thursday 26th May: Tiberias Manchester

8 DAY TOUR - Mainland Greece

This is the itinerary of our educational tours

DAY 1: Arrive in Thessaloniki airport
Meet with our guide and transfer to the hotel

DAY 2: Drive east to the town of Kavala and Philippi

We cross the fertile plains of Macedonia following the route of the ancient Roman road " Via Egnatia " . We arrive in Philippi , where St. Paul first preached the gospel on European soil . Christianity spread rapidly in this Roman town . In the 5th century , the first vast Basilica ( 130 x 50m ) was built and was one of the most important early Christian architectural monuments in Greece . The ruins stand at height of 6.50m . It was destroyed in the 6th century and never rebuilt . A second three aisle basilicas was then built , but was abandoned unfinished , because the dome collapsed . Excavations have revealed two more basilicas . Here is also a crypt of the Roman times known to be the prison of Paul . After the visit, we drive to the nearby small village of Lydia . It was here that Paul baptised a woman called Lydia , the very first to be baptised in the whole of Europe. Arriving here, we can enjoy the beautiful view of the town port . The port Kavala corresponds to the ancient port of Nepalese , where Paul landed after he had sailed from Troad ( Asia Minor ) to Macedonia , Greece. Going back to Thessaloniki next to the Strimon River is an imposing monument called the Lion of Amfipolis. Further out is the ancient Amfipolis, through which Paul had passed on his way to Thessaloniki.

DAY 3: Today we visit the city of Thessaloniki, the second largest in Greece, famous for its beautiful old and modern quarters and Byzantine churches. We visit St. Demetrios church of the 11th century. According to tradition this church was built on the place of Martyrdom Synagogue, where Paul had preached whilst in Salonica. We visit also the Archaeological Museum containing the famous treasures of Vergina from the recently excavated tomb of King Philippos, father of Alexander the Great.

DAY 4: Today we drive west to Veria, the Beria of the New Testament built on a terrace on the foot of Mt. Vermion Here we visit the modern Monument, which corresponds to the Bema from which Paul had preached According to information, Paul's audience here consisted mostly of gentiles and especially of the noble women. This was Paul's last stop in Macedonia before continuing on to Athens . We then drive to Kalambaka.

DAY 5: Visit of the Monasteries of Meteora. From the 12th century onwards, monks and hermits began to retire to the recesses in these immense grey rocks of Meteora and in the 14th century a large monastic state began to develop, which in the 16th century numbered 24 monasteries. Only five of these are still occupied Two of these monasteries are visited. Return to Athens.

DAY 6: Visit Athens. Drive through the main streets, where the most important Monuments can be seen: the University, Library, Academy and the Parliament building, the 6th century B.C Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrain's Arch. Visit the Acropolis and the famous Parthenon. Then the rocky Hill of Mars well known Areopagus located on the Northwest slope of the Acropolis. This Hill gave name to a Council of Nobles, which became the Senate and the Supreme Court of Ancient Athens. In 61 A.D. Paul delivered the Sermon on the unknown God. It was here that Senator Dionysius was converted to Christianity and later became the patron Saint of Athens. Rest of the day free.

DAY 7: Early departure for our excursion to Corinth. The drive the Corinth offers a variety of landscape viewing the Saronic Gulf and its islands. This is the Gulf which Paul had sailed going from Athens to Corinth. Stop to see the Corinth Canal , which connects the Aegean with the lonian Sea. Ancient Corinth is located inland on the foot of Mt. Acrocorinth . The city's "Long Wall " began from the summit of the mountain , encompassed the city and ended at the port of Lechaio , which was the artificial harbour built on shore of the Gulf of Corinth . In the area city itself , the ruins are those of its Agora ( Forum ) as it was in the days of the Romans in the 1st century A.D. On the northern side of the Agora , 7, of the 38 columns of the Ancient Temple of Apollo ( 6th century B.C. ) still stand . To the Northwest of the Agora are the remains the Theatre and the Roman Odeon . Among the ruins of the Roman Forum we can see the Bema , a single structure from where Paul preached to Corinthians . Corinth was the city Paul visited twice on first trip and where he spent 18 months. Here in Corinth , Paul created one the of the biggest Christian communities in Europe. Visit also the museum containing finds from the Agora. Visit the small port of Lechaio, where St Paul disembarked to visit Corinth.

DAY 8: Transfer to the airport for departure.

DAY 1: Arrival at Heraklion port/airport.

Meet, assist and transfer HERAKLION.

DAY 2: RETHYMNON.

After breakfast, tour to the south, with first stop in Aghia Varnava and then to the Monastery Kalyviani. Later at Gortys, see the 6th century church of St Paul Titus, a reminder that the disciple St Titus was appointed by St Paul as the Bishop of Crete. After a visit to Phaestos, the Minoan city , we arrive in Ag . Galini, where St Paul found shelter in the calm harbour . Return through Spili to Rethymnon.

DAY 3: SFAKIA.

All day excursion to the Moni Preveli, Frangokastello and then to Chora Sfakion. From here to Loutron by boat where St Paul landed. Two churches are on our programme to be visited: Theotokos and St Charalambous . Return to hotel in Sfakia.

DAY 4: PALEOHHORA.

From Sfakia we arrive in Sougia . Later through the countryside , we come to Paleohora for overnight.

DAY 5: KASTELLI.

After breakfast we visit the famous Moni Chrisoskalitissa " Golden Step " Later through Topolia we arrive at Kastelli . Overnight in Kastelli or Kolymbari area.

DAY 6: CHANIA.

Visit the Monastery of Gonia and the Orthodox Academy at Kolmbari . Via Chania we arrive at Ag. Triada , the Monasteries of Tsagarolon and Gouverneto . Overnight in Chania.

DAY 7: HERAKLION

Morning departure - return to Heraklion , through the villages Georgioupolis and Vrisses. Visit the historical Monastery of Arkadi . On the way stop to visit Fodele the birthplace of El Greco . Arrive at Heraklion for overnight.

DAY 1: Arrive at Ben Gurion airport meeting and assistance by Unitours staffand transfer to your hotel.Dinner and overnight in Tel Aviv area.

DAY 2: Ceasarea Maritime - Mt. Carmel - Muchraqa - (Sacrifice of Elijah)Nazareth - Basilica and the Grotto of Annunciation, Church of St Joseph.Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

DAY 3: Full day tour. Boat ride in the Sea of Galilee. Continue to Tabgha, Mt of Beatitudes,Primacy of St Peter - Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, Capernaum -House of St Peter and Synagogue ruins, Banias, Ceasarea Phillipi.Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
